    Tech Neck™ is Not Just a Matter of Age

    By MSc. Teuta Tunuzliu — Pharmacist & Cosmetology Specialist · July 21, 2026

    In my daily practice, one of the concerns I encounter with increasing frequency—even among patients in their 30s and 40s—is what is modernly recognized as Tech Neck™.

    The neck is one of the very first anatomical zones to exhibit structural skin changes. This is not necessarily because we have "aged," but because the skin in this region possesses distinct biological characteristics compared to the face.

    Neck skin is significantly thinner, has fewer sebaceous glands, lacks strong structural support, and is continuously subjected to movement, gravity, UV radiation, and today, a modern compounding factor: prolonged downward neck posture while using smartphones and digital devices.

    The Result?

    A gradual loss of elasticity, horizontal creasing, tissue laxity, and a progressive softening of jawline definition—commonly referred to as Tech Neck™.

    What is Actually Happening Beneath the Skin?

    From a biological standpoint, as time progresses:

    • Collagen and elastin synthesis naturally slows down;
    • Fibroblast activity decreases;
    • Microcirculation becomes compromised;
    • The skin loses density and elastic recoil;
    • Underlying structural matrix elements gradually weaken.

    In many cases, individuals focus heavily on facial skincare while the neck and jawline quietly display early signs of structural aging.

    This is precisely why modern clinical aesthetics does not focus merely on surface tightness, but rather on biological stimulation, tissue regeneration, and long-term skin quality preservation.

    Why Topical Creams Alone Are Often Not Enough

    Home skincare remains an essential component of any regimen.

    However, once there is deeper tissue laxity and a structural drop in dermal density, topicals alone cannot reach the dermal depths required. A strategic combination with professional collagen-stimulating therapies is necessary.

    When is the Ideal Time to Intervene?

    Not when tissue sagging has become advanced. The most optimal clinical outcomes are achieved in early stages, upon the first appearance of:

    • Horizontal neck rings;
    • Mild loss of skin bounce and elasticity;
    • Crepey or thinning texture;
    • Reduced jawline sharpness.

    At this stage, the biological regenerative potential of the skin remains high.

    The TEUTÉ Clinical Approach

    As a pharmacist and cosmetology specialist, my clinical philosophy has always been to address not just the visible sign, but the biological process driving it.

    At TEUTÉ Advanced Aesthetics, we focus on a progressive, biologically intelligent framework. Following a comprehensive skin consultation and diagnostic analysis, a clinical protocol may include:

    • Deep Collagen Stimulation utilizing ultrasound technology such as Sofwave™;
    • Biostimulation & Biorevitalizing Protocols to restore structural matrix density with Profhilo®, Sunekos®, or Rejuran® Polynucleotides;
    • Targeted Medical Skincare incorporating retinoids and exosome formulations, such as Mesoestetic® Skinretin Body Cream;
    • Custom Maintenance Programs structured under the TEUTÉ Method™ framework.

    The most natural results rarely stem from a single procedure, but rather from the synergism of targeted professional treatments combined with precise daily skin health protocols.

    Because treating the neck is not simply about "looking younger." It is about preserving the biological function, structure, and cellular integrity of the skin for as long as possible.

    In preventive aesthetics, our goal is not to change how you look, but to preserve the quality of how you age.
